Epistolary Novel Prompts
Picture

An epistolary novel is a story written entirely in letters. In The Night Diary the main character, Nisha, tells her story in a diary which are actually letters she writes to her mother. To create these writing prompts, I teamed up with two awesome authors, Sarah Kapit and Kelly Jones, who also have written epistolary novels. Our letter-writing prompts are linked below!

Here's my writing prompt based on The Night Diary:
Write a Letter Explaining Your Most Favorite Food or Meal

Here are Sarah and Kelly's writing prompts:

Write A Letter to Your Personal Hero by Sarah Kapit, author of Get a Grip, Vivy Cohen!

Write A Letter You Can’t Mail by Kelly Jones, author of Unusual Chickens for the Exceptional Poultry Farmer

KidLit TV

I had a blast being a guest on KidLit TV making my grandmother's recipe for Sai Bhaji, an Indian Sindhi vegetable dish that I mention in The Night Diary. The recipe is in the video and also included in the paperback book!

The Story Seeds Podcast
Picture

Recently I was featured on Episode 2 of the new Story Seeds Podcast where kids and authors get to collaborate on ideas and create stories together. There's also a lot of related material for each author/kid creator team. I loved being part of it! Check out the story I created with Willa on Episode 2!

The Children's Book Podcast

I was thrilled to be interviewed by Matthew Winner on The Children's Book Podcast. We talked all about why I wrote The Night Diary and how I became a writer in the first place! If you're looking for in-depth interviews from many wonderful children's authors, this is a great resource.
