Bio

Veera has been through a few career incarnations including an admissions counselor, children's book editor, and most recently a Montessori teacher, which she recently left to write full-time. Along the way, she received her M.F.A in Fiction Writing from Sarah Lawrence College and has written over twenty books for children. Her novel for young readers released in January 2012 from Random House titled The Whole Story of Half a Girl received starred reviews from Kirkus and Publisher's Weekly. She has also contributed fiction to Kahani, www.kahani.com, a South Asian literary magazine for children. She lives in New York with her two incredibly cute, incredibly loud children and her supportive, quieter husband.
